Duchess

I wish someone would turn that into an animated GIF.

Got my hat today!! <33333 It arrived at home the same day I did, I love Closet Child. How come I get things from Japan in less time than it takes to get some things from the US? gaaahhh in any case I love this hat and it's never leaving my head. I think I'll be starting a BTSSB and AATP hat collection soon.

Also got tickets to see Mike Birbiglia in Boston this November! Sweetest of deals. Love that guy. I'm getting my ticket to see Eddie Izzard soon, since they finally announced his tour date in Boston <333 I'm pretty sure my friend Lacey will be coming with me, I really hope. I want to dress nice and I wouldn't want to go by myself.

I also watched Green Lantern - First Flight last night. Not bad! I really liked it. Green Lantern was never one of my very favorites, but I do really like him, so watching his own animated movie was pretty cool. Had to watch Wonder Woman right afterwards though, I needed to see an awesome woman kicking ass.

I'll probably be sharing some info on my comic project soon. I don't want to talk to much about it until I've got some more structure in place because I tend to get hyped up on working on a project until I realize it's way too big for me. So I'm really trying to keep this one in my sights for now until I can share more about it. Wish me luck, guys.

Ahhhhh I need money, thank god I'm back to work Saturday. I can't stop buying stuff! At least I'm trying to support independent seamstresses and businesses. All that support is really expensive though.

Yussss mothafucka just bought this motherfuckin' sweetass hat from Closet Child :D However, the exchange rate between the USD and the yen is suckville right now. I'm gonna have to put off that Innocent World order I was planning D:

I'm gonna be so stylin'. Just wish I knew why I only own BTSSB for brand. :\
13th-Sep-2009 10:16 pm - Hey peeps
Sora
I spent most of anatomy this week outlining my absolute must-buys for my wardrobe. Good bye, education!

I'm wearing lolita for the first time this year on Tuesday so I can be all dolled up for the Neo-Victorian club [info]grayhour's doing. That should be an interesting day.

Also homework. I've been doing everything but it, and that everything includes a little sketching but nothing to put up here. Bums me out, but whatcha gonna do? Gotta write and study for now.

I swear to god I have to do fanart for Sherlock Holmes and the Picture of Dorian Gray, it's driving me crazy. Victorian dudes, great fashion sense, and crime? I love that shit!

I had a dream I drew an insanely good-looking Batman. He was super ripped. I was really depressed when I woke up.

Finally ordering my dream tricorn hat :3

Oh hey guys. Did I ever mention how I thought that whole updating thing was overrated?

It's been a busy week back at school. But classes haven't been busy at all. Weird. I only go to class 21 hours a week, which is awesome. But I have managed to screw up a lot of stuff in a very short amount of time. Parking my car has been a stupid experience, since I switched cars and my new one didn't have the parking pass for the street. Gay. But that's all taken care of. I did leave my key card to get into my dorm at home yesterday, but my parents are amazing and brought it here for me. I also left my student ID down at the Y. Also I keep forgetting my flash drive. Whatever. Hopefully this whole crazy experience will be behind me soon.

In any case, I've got a few meager sketches to accommodate my laziness for the past week. First, here's the first part of a three-part series I wanna work on. I want to do more pirate lolitas, since it's one of my favorite styles. This lady's name is Red Tide, which is awesome but also makes me think of menstruating. I'm working on Nor'easter, but a third name still escapes me. Anyone have any sweet nautical names?

Now for some nerdery. Batman Beyond sketches! I don't draw this series enough. If I could draw one DC Comics title it would be Batman Beyond. I love everything about that show. Best ever. And a picture of Querl getting flustered with Supergirl. Or as flustered as a twelfth level intelligence can be. I'll finish this soon, but I think I wanna change Supergirl's face.

I'll cut this short before I ramble any longer. Ciao~

I love it when Firefox fucks up and forgets my passwords, and then I spend a couple hours figuring out what files I have to delete.

I figured out the original Kingdom Hearts game will be 7 years old this September. And yet, still one of the best games I've ever played. Yes! Also, AkuRoku day is in a week...I really want to do something this year. It shall be done.

Not much art done recently. I doodled a Silk Spectre and a couple of retard Batmans while watching the Watchmen director's cut DVD. I loved a lot of the extra footage...and hated a lot of it too. omg some of it was so stupid to have in a movie. Zack Snyder can you please get some smart in that brain of yours? I really don't want to see a guy's teeth coming out of his mouth, or the flesh hanging off a guys face when his head is getting hacked.

I finally caved and ordered a pair of Victorian Maiden replica blouses from [info]mashimaro_girl. The service is really nice! They're so quick with responding to emails. The manufacturing should take about a month, so I should think of other things to buy while waiting. Saving on shipping is great.

11 more days 'till I'm two decades old. Wonder what I'll do?

Rorschach
Photobucket

That's the funniest picture I've ever seen. I love my Superman in the 60's book.

SO I FINISHED THAT THING. Holy cow, I'm so glad I got it done! I know it's not crazy awesome, but it works for what it is. Hopefully the BABY staff will like it :D

I watched some of my Watchmen DVD, and I have to say...the tiny bits that were left in for the director's cut make a HUGE difference. I liked the movie a lot when I saw it in the theater, but it's so much better on DVD. Just the tiny things, they make me happy.

I've been contemplating what camera to get. My old one crapped out (not that old, less than a year >:( ) so I've been searching for the perfect one. I am in no way a photography-savvy person, so I never know what to look for. I've been eying the Canon SX110, but I'm open to suggestions. People of the internet, I ask for your advice!

lmao wasn't this journal supposed to be for updating my art things? I guess I need to be doing art to update you people on it. So here's the lines for the Alice and the Pirates tribute I'm working on. I hope to have this done by tomorrow so I can work on something else.

Decided I'd like to whiten my teeth. Boy is this summer fun! Working on improving my features. I was looking through some old pictures of me and noticed that my teeth weren't very nice. I've shied away from whitening them because years ago I chipped my front teeth and needed to get them covered in some artificial substance to fix the chips, and I don't know how a whitening system will work on it. But I'll bite the bullet (lol no pun intended) and go for it.

Working out is exceedingly...painful. I hate it. But I'm not stopping. There is nothing on this earth I hate more than physical activity for the sake of being physically active. I like swimming, skating, and dancing because it's fun, not because I'm active. But sacrifices must be made, I guess.

Oh yeah! I bought the Watchmen DVD on Tuesday, and I got the super awesome Rorschach face version from Best Buy. It matches my Dark Knight DVD case of Batman's head. They can make out or something. I'm still debating whether or not to be Silk Spectre for Halloween. Oh yeah, have I mentioned that I'm horrifically jealous of everyone going to SDCC? Efffff you guys.

26 days until I'm two decades old.

Man, all the wardrobe posts on EGL are making me jealous. Where do these people get the extra scratch to buy this stuff? All the money I'm making this summer is going to fuel art and student loans. I guess I just have too many expensive hobbies. Some take priority. I'm just super bummed that I missed out on the Innocent World skirt I've had my eye on. I'm hitting myself over not reserving it. Gaaaayyyy. I just wish I could keep a handle on my wish list. I'm gonna have to find an amazing seamstress to make stuff for me, since I can't fit into brand very well.

I am definitely going to Anime Boston next year. Nothing will stop me. After learning that [info]halcyonjazz was thinking about going, I knew I could not skip out this time. I've wanted to go for years. I'm totally going to Boston Comic Con in a few months too, that oughta be awesome. I hope I can nab my Batgirl hoodie before then :x And my custom converse.

Working on my AatP tribute tonight, it's my top priority right now. It has to be done by August 1st. Hopefully I can get something churned out by then. Also playing more Kingdom Hearts. I've only just beaten Halloweentown, but that's to be expected since I can't justify playing a video game to myself when there's art to be done and books to be read. At least I'm getting somewhere in my quest to go through the whole series. Expect fan-things.
Dr. Clayton Forrester
So today I was unable to go into work. I'm out $55.76 for the next week. Shite. I love the rain, but not when it costs me money.

I did, however, get to do some drawing and watching of MST3K. Two of my favorite pastimes.

I put together a compilation of some random and very incomplete lolita doodles. That oughta satisfy you.

Also, a preview of my new dA ID. I take those oddly seriously. I make a new one pretty much every other year. I like to see my self-portraits progress, I guess.

And a sketch of the one, the only, Dr. Clayton Deborah Susan Forrester! I got this retarded idea today so I'll be drawing a good portion of the MST3K cast in the time to come.

So that's it for today. Maybe I'll make some rice balls tomorrow. Or my dA journal CSS.
20th-Jun-2009 01:41 am - Busy busy
glee
So so so...bunches and oodles of things going on. Which is a lie. But I have been drawing whenever I can, and thinking of new things every time I get a chance to think. I've got a few fun things to share :D

Well, an update on my himeloli experimental chibi. I finished the lines while watching Pride and Prejudice for the zillionth time. The colors will be in soon enough.

Finally a new picture of Neppa! I barely ever draw him anymore. It's nothing special, and so retardedly static, but I really gotta crawl before I walk. Laaaaaammmmeee.

And a new project! I was inspired by the [info]egl_comm_art June theme of fanart, even though I don't think I'll make it for the deadline. But that's okay! After reading Peter Pan, I knew I needed to do something for it. The concept fits lolita so perfectly, but at the same time it's about a little boy who runs around like a wild beast, the exact opposite of the loli aesthetic. But there's nothing like a good challenge to motivate me! So I'll be doing a series of five images, each of a different character (Peter, Tinkerbell, Wendy, Captain Hook, and Tiger Lily). And boy, is it difficult. I've got Tink sketched out, so I wanna play around with my digital medium and get a better feel for lines especially. I'll explain each piece as I finish it.

I hope to get to see a bunch of my friends very soon! It's good feeling like you're wanted around :D
